Spring Snook Fishing Charters in Tampa Bay

Published September 15th, 2014 by Capt Jason Prieto

Spring fishing starts in just a couple of weeks. Weather starts to get mild and the fish come out from the rivers and creeks to play. It's one of my favorite times of year. You can expect plenty of action. From catching tons of snook on your Tampa fishing charters, to the big gator trout roaming the outer flats of Tampa Bay, you will be in for a great outing on the water. Snook have to be the highlight of the month as they come out from the creeks and rivers where they have lived through the cold of the winter. During this time, you can rest assured that snook have been more worried about surviving than feeding, as they are a tropical fish and can't survive in water any cooler than what we get. Come March, the floodgates are open and these great fighting fish make their way out onto the flats. During this time, we also get thousands of greenbacks that move into the bay that we use for bait. I call these "snook candy." They love the greenbacks this time of year, and when presented at just about any time of the day, snook just can't resist. Booking a FL fishing charter is as easy as it gets, and you don't have to worry about licenses or tackle because it's all included in the trip. It's the easiest part of your vacation. Show up with a great attitude, food, and beverage, and you will be ready to enjoy a great Tampa Bay fishing charter.
