Spring Fishing Weather for Trout & Mackerel

Published March 31st, 2010 by Capt Jason Prieto

Well, we are finally reaching spring weather, and it's going to be consistent for the rest of the week. We are also starting to see our bait beginning to move in from offshore. The fish will quickly follow the bait run. Today we caught plenty of nice-sized trout and a few mackerel as well. There are still a few nice black drum around as well. Redfish are also roaming the flats. Shrimp and cut bait have been the best baits when targeting reds. This week is a full moon, which means we have good tides. I have found redfish at the top of the high tide in the mangroves.
