Great catches despite Covid 19. This has really slowed business for not only me but every other charter captain in the Tampa Bay area. It has taken the nation by surprise. As a result we have been hit really hard on cancellations and it’s been very hard to stay afloat. But I have been in business since 2004 and will continue to thrive, once the COVID 19 passes and things get back to normal.
On the fishing side of things we have had a ton of success inside Tampa Bay catching just about everything that swims. Snook and Redfish have been plentiful on the flats. I’ve found great success fishing the banks with the flooded tides from last week. We have also be doing some bay fishing for Cobia, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Mackerel, and a few others to top the list. I’ve found the most success on the start and finish of the tides when bay fishing. Last week we caught some monster Mangrove Snapper around the full moon, and the Grouper were also plentiful. Looking forward I would say that the Tarpon fishing should start to pick up as the migration fish start to show up in their normal spots. Chasing the Silver King on Tampa fishing charters is always a blast.
Great catches despite Covid 19
While the world continues to cope with the change form the COVID 19 virus,we will strive to get back to normal. We are open for business and running on a limited basis and will be in full force as soon as things open up. As some fishing charters struggle the industry we will encounter a new set of issues the will affect the end user.
I pride my business on a quality (not the cheapest) fishing charter in Tampa Bay. I charge enough to make a living guiding full time, to support my family.
I also have the correct credentials and proper insurance to run legally.
This will be something that most of you will think is a given but during these hard times some people will start to cut prices and these same people will not be able to afford to keep the correct licensing or insurance.
Always make sure you have a great day of fishing but also make sure the guy you are chartering with has the credentials to be legal. Ask for the merchant marine license number and some proof of fishing license and insurance. Also make sure that the boat advertised will be the one you will be fishing out of. DO THIS BEFORE BOOKING THE CHARTER……
Do your homework on the guide you want to spend the day with on your next Tampa fishing charters with covid free and great catches. If you should have any questions about your next Tampa fishing charter feel free to give us a call (813)727-9890
