Fishing Around Tampa Bay Weather for Trout, Cobia, Redfish & Black Drum

Published February 22nd, 2010 by Capt Jason Prieto

Well, the winter weather just won't give up this year, but we are still catching a variety of different species. This weather pattern has really changed my normal winter fishing pattern, but I have found that if you find the warmer water, the fish are really stacked up in these areas. In recent trips this past week, we have fished around the weather and caught all sorts of different species in a single trip. Species caught this week include trout, cobia, redfish, black drum, jack crevalle, sheepshead, and bonnethead sharks. All have been caught with shrimp tipped with a jig head. We have caught a few trout on artificial lures as well. A weedless Texas rig has been a good artificial setup. Spring is just around the corner, so don't delay booking your trip now.
